March 11th, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org) - Server Maintenance

Some server maintenance is scheduled to be performed today. English servers are expected to be down starting 9:15 CET and should be back before noon.

We're gained some new members over the last week or so: Hostiler, Snefnuk, Npthree, Takros and Enties, welcome all :) (pfft, remind me to post more regular updates :>)
Puritan has been promoted to full member as well, congratulations! :)

Chronicles data provided by GOA is updating once again, so character data on this website should be up to date again. Unfortunately this data doesn't include any Master Level information, so I've added the option of manually providing this information for each of your characters.

For those that like to keep completely up to date: 1.69a and 1.69b patchnotes from Pendragon, the US test server. Lots of changes to Augmentation lines, and Dragonfang is finally nerfed, check it out ;)

March 6th, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org)

First of all: congratulations to Kraig and Grinna who dinged level 50 some days ago and yesterday respectively :)

By now most people have received their copies of Trials of Atlantis, the first master levels have been completed and many an hour has been spent on obtaining artifacts.
There have been some problems with server stability, the ML 4.2 encounter has been responsible for several crashes already. A solution is being worked on. A little more information on the subject as well as others is available in the latest installment of the Friday News.

As with most fridays, a new grab bag was posted on the Camelot Herald as well, for those interested.

February 27th, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org) - One day after TOA release..

The server patching on Wednesday was completed well within schedule (Excalibur was back up before noon CET), but there are a few moderately serious problems that are being worked on: firstly, sometimes when you zone you will find the new zone not properly loading. When you press Escape you'll be back at at the character selection screen. Secondly, there are a few servers experiencing server side lag in TOA zones, Excalibur being one of them.
These problems are being worked on of course, and will hopefully be history soon ;) Some US version fixes (Majestic Will RA changes and 1.68 TOA unique item generation changes) have gone live on the European servers as well for balance purposes.

There has been some problems with the actual distribution of the expansion as well, and not all of you that planned on getting it will have it yet (I'm expecting my own copy on Friday).

Today (well, technically yesterday) was guild RvR day, which was largely a success. We managed to field 2 full groups to kill some enemy scum and to take and claim Dun Crauchon as well. That didn't last very long, but it was fun to do anyway :)

Edit: Oops, almost forgot :) Congratulations to Kraig for reaching Legendary Armorer and welcome to Striketwice, a new member today :)

February 24th, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org) - Wednesday, patch day

First of all, we have a new member since yesterday: Sophocles. He's been playing on US servers for some time now, but finally decided to give GOA a try and hopefully get some more primetime action :)

Then there's of course the release of Trials of Atlantis and 1.67 tomorrow. The servers will be coming down at 6am GMT and are expected to be back up with the new version by the end of the afternoon.
Because of the TOA release the official DAoC Europe website will be transformed into a 'lite' version of itself, in order to be able to handle all the expansion activation requests better (you'll know why if you remember the Shrouded Isles release day).
Be sure to read all about it in the official article on the Camelot Europe website (local copy).

If you want to start planning around the new TOA features and items, be sure to read the 1.68 patch notes, as it brings a lot of balance changes you will be confronted with when that patch hits the European servers.

February 22nd, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org) - Mooooore level 50s!

More? Yes, more.. Congratulations on level 50 to Falldorn and Lequin (Ralgedi) :) Kraig managed to get to Grandmaster Armorer (900 skill) as well yesterday, also a noteworthy achievement :)

Trials of Atlantis is coming very close now. The latest tests on Gorre are looking pretty good, so I expect a reasonably fluent patching to 1.67 on Wednesday.

February 20th, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org)

Some interesting news today on the Dark Age of Camelot front. First of all, the Friday News, mostly on the subject of the upcoming Trials of Atlantis expansion (on the 25th of February), be sure to check it out.

Mythic has also released some new details about the transportation system in the upcoming free New Frontiers expansion. This is a while away yet especially for European players, but worth checking out nonetheless.

That's it for now, stay tuned :)

February 18th, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org) - More level 50s :)

Yesterday both Ambush (Jerelyn) and Lyseia (Shaniah) reached level 50, for the third and sixth (!) time respectively. Congratulations both :)

A new member joined our ranks yesterday as well in the form of Groshdar, another of Falldorn's friends. Speaking of which, Storka is taking a little break from DAoC to concentrate on school stuff, see his post of the forum.

Update: If you were planning on staying up late tonight, there will be some maintenance on the Opentransit network somewhere between midnight and 7am tomorrow. Expected duration is 20 minutes, during which DAoC Europe servers (amongst other things) will be unreachable. (see also the official GOA announcement)

February 17th, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org) - Storka level 50!

Congratulations to Storka on reaching level 50, pretty fast levelling there! Let us know if you need help doing your high level epic quests, I haven't heard you talk about them yet :)
Thorunn, the shared buffbot of Shaniah, Skeggi and I also dinged level 50 last sunday in a nice guildgroup in Modernagrav. I hope you all had as much fun there as I did :)

February 14th, 2004 by Thorarin (thorarintiwaz DOT org)

A few noteworthy accomplishments from our members:
First of all, congratulations to Skeggi on reaching realm rank 5! Nice end sprint with over 100,000 LWRP :)
Dreggel has gone through the Emissary promotion procedure and is from now on a full fletched member. Welcome, and keep up the good work on the levelling :)

Be sure to check this week's friday news from GOA, and if you're into such things the latest grab bag from the Camelot Herald :)
